Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has drawn significant attention during training camp for a perceived increase in speed, with teammates and coaches noting his enhanced mobility. Defensive tackle Jalen Carter described Hurts' movements as "like a movie," adding that it feels as though defenders are moving in slow motion when trying to catch him.

"He be moving man, he’s been working hard and he’s the one, for sure," Carter said, according to ESPN. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio also acknowledged the change, noting that there have been instances where players believed they had Hurts for a sack but ultimately did not.

Hurts, who is in the fourth year of a five-year, $255 million contract, has established himself as one of the league's top rushing quarterbacks. Since his debut in 2020, his 3,554 rushing yards trail only Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen. Despite ranking among the best in rushing touchdowns, yards, and carries in the 2025 season, these statistics represented career lows, excluding his rookie year when he was not the primary starter.

Despite the observations from his team, Hurts stated that he does not feel any different from previous seasons regarding his offseason conditioning. "I don’t feel any different than I have felt in the past," he said.

The Eagles are preparing for the upcoming season with an emphasis on the team's performance. The team's training camp activities are underway, with players practicing drills and strategizing for the year ahead. The Eagles' commitment to player development and performance is evident in the attention given to each player's physical readiness and contribution to the team's overall strategy.
