Jalen Hurts' Frustration Surfaces After Being Sent to Blue Tent in Bears Game

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was visibly frustrated after being sent to the sideline and into the medical tent during the second quarter of their "Monday Night Football" game against the Chicago Bears. The Eagles ultimately lost the game 27-7.

Philadelphia faced a second-and-4 situation in the red zone when Hurts scrambled for a first down and was hit out of bounds by Bears linebacker D’Marco Jackson. The impact sent Hurts backward, with the back of his helmet striking the turf. Although Hurts quickly got back on his feet, referees directed him to the blue medical tent for evaluation.

While inside the tent, Hurts appeared to exclaim, “Where’s my f–kin’ helmet at?” The incident occurred as the Eagles were positioned at the Bears’ 1-yard line following a run by Saquon Barkley. Backup quarterback Andy Dalton entered the game to lead the drive.

Despite being cleared by medical staff to return, Hurts could not re-enter the game until the unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant, known as the "Red Hat," completed their review. The consultant was occupied reviewing the hit on an iPad, delaying Hurts' return.

During this time, the Bears defense prevented a touchdown on multiple running plays. Dalton then threw an interception to Bears rookie Dillon Thieneman, marking the first interception of his career. This turnover significantly shifted the momentum of the game, which the Eagles had entered undefeated.

Following the game, Hurts stated, “I was still waiting. I was just waiting for the thumbs up. I felt fine. We already checked it. I don’t know how extensive the process is. Obviously, wish we could have expedited things. I know I felt fine.”

The sequence of events led to the Bears scoring 17 unanswered points in the second half, with 38-year-old third-string quarterback Case Keenum leading the charge. The loss dropped the Eagles to a 2-1 record for the season.
