Jalen Duren, Pistons Reach $200 Million Contract Agreement

Jalen Duren and the Detroit Pistons have agreed to a five-year, $200 million contract, ending a protracted negotiation period. The deal, reported late Thursday, is fully guaranteed and secures Duren's long-term future with the franchise.

The agreement resolves a contract dispute that began earlier in the summer and extended into the start of training camp, during which Duren remained unsigned and missed initial practices. As a restricted free agent, Duren was eligible to sign a qualifying offer for one year and $9.6 million, which would have made him an unrestricted free agent in the following offseason. However, the new deal ensures his commitment to Detroit.

Duren, 22, had a career-best regular season in 2025-26, averaging 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game while shooting 65 percent from the field. His performance was a significant factor in the Pistons securing the top seed in the Eastern Conference. His statistics saw a dip in the playoffs, where he averaged 10.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
