Jalen Brunson Treats Fans Camping Out for SNL Hosting Gig
The New York Knicks star sent boxes of expensive Levain Bakery cookies to those waiting in line to see him host "Saturday Night Live."
Jalen Brunson provided a sweet surprise for over 100 fans who braved the elements to see him host "Saturday Night Live" for the first time. NBC pages distributed boxes of cookies from the popular and pricey New York City-based Levain Bakery to the fans waiting outside NBC's Midtown studios on Friday night.
Manhattan resident Jordana Judson, a social content creator, was among those who had been waiting for an hour in the rain. She told The Post that NBC pages informed them, "Jalen Brunson wanted to drop off some cookies for you guys from Levain while he’s rehearsing." Judson described the gesture as "really, really nice" and believed it came directly from Brunson and his team.
The cookies, which cost $5.75 each at Levain Bakery, were distributed to each fan in line, with the gesture extending beyond the first 100 people. Judson noted that the cookies were "actually really good" and that she could not finish hers.
Fans expressed their appreciation for the gesture, with one commenting they would preserve the cookie for future generations. Judson, a regular attendee of "SNL," explained the process for securing a spot, which involves waiting from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. the night before the show's taping to receive a number, with no guarantee of studio entry.
She mentioned that NBC staff often provide amenities like hot chocolate and soup during cold weather waits. In past experiences, such as when Harry Styles hosted, fans received pizza. This was the first time cookies were distributed.
Judson, holding number 45, was hopeful for a studio spot for Saturday night's taping, noting that typically at least 50 to 60 people are admitted. She was scheduled to report back to NBC at 9:45 p.m. Saturday to await her fate, dependent on available seating.
