Jalen Brunson Makes Acting Debut in 'Law & Order: SVU' Trailer
The New York Knicks star plays a detective opposite Mariska Hargitay in an upcoming episode.
New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson is set to make his acting debut in an upcoming episode of "Law & Order: SVU." A trailer released on Friday revealed Brunson’s role as a detective, appearing alongside Mariska Hargitay, who plays Captain Olivia Benson.
In the trailer, Brunson's character, Detective Madison, interacts with Benson. The episode, titled "Forsaken," is part of Season 28 and centers on the assault of a wedding guest. The plot description indicates that Benson and her team uncover a secret, and District Attorney Sonny Carisi's pursuit of justice becomes complicated by uncooperative witnesses.
Brunson, a prominent figure for the Knicks, has been a familiar face at Madison Square Garden, often seen on Celebrity Row. Hargitay, an Emmy-winning actress, has previously teased Brunson's guest appearance.
She first announced their collaboration on the "Today Show" in August. Brunson and his Knicks teammate Josh Hart host a podcast called "Roommates Show," and Hargitay had been a guest on the show's live broadcast in September. Hargitay was also present with Brunson and his father, Rick, on a float during the Knicks' championship victory parade in New York on June 18, celebrating the team's first NBA championship in 53 years.
The episode featuring Jalen Brunson is scheduled to air on November 5 at 9 p.m. on NBC and will also be available for streaming on Peacock.
