New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson kicked off the 52nd season of "Saturday Night Live" as the opening host, a role that saw him displaying notable comedic timing. Brunson, who recently led the Knicks to their first NBA championship in decades, was described as "Big Apple royalty" and a fitting choice for the show's premiere.

While athletes often have a mixed record when appearing on "SNL," Brunson navigated the challenges, including the monologue, with support from teammates Josh Hart, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, and Karl-Anthony Towns. The monologue itself is often considered one of the most difficult segments for non-performers.

Brunson also participated in several sketches, including one where he played an office worker struggling to make a trash can shot.
