Jalen Brunson Cleared for Training Camp After Offseason Wrist Surgery
Knicks star Jalen Brunson ready to play after undergoing surgery for a tendon issue in his left wrist.
New York Knicks captain Jalen Brunson has announced he is fully cleared for training camp, having undergone offseason surgery to repair a tendon issue in his left wrist. Brunson played through the injury during the latter stages of the playoffs.
"It was painful, but I clearly could play through it," Brunson stated at the team's Media Day on Monday. "Did what I had to do every single day just to make sure I was right."
He opted for surgery in early July, several weeks after leading the Knicks to an NBA championship and earning Finals MVP honors. Brunson spent most of the summer in a cast.
"Didn’t think I necessarily needed surgery, so if that was the case, maybe I would have gotten it done sooner," Brunson said. "So yeah, I was just playing through it, didn’t think anything of it, and I feel good. And we’ll see."
