Jake Peavy Sings National Anthem Before NLDS Game 4
Former Padres pitcher Jake Peavy performed the national anthem alongside Tim Flannery before the San Diego Padres faced the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 4 of the NLDS.
Former San Diego Padres pitcher Jake Peavy performed the national anthem prior to Game 4 of the National League Division Series between the Padres and the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday night. Peavy was joined by former infielder and coach Tim Flannery for the performance.
Peavy, a prominent figure in Padres history, has embraced music in his post-playing career, performing with his band "Jake Peavy & The Outsiders." This is not the first time Peavy has combined his passion for music with baseball events. He was previously seen playing an electric guitar during a live broadcast between the Mariners and Padres in May.
Peavy played eight seasons with the Padres, achieving a Cy Young Award in 2007 after winning 19 games, posting a 2.54 ERA, and recording 240 strikeouts. He went on to win back-to-back World Series championships in 2013 with the Boston Red Sox and in 2014 with the San Francisco Giants. In 2023, Peavy was inducted into the Padres Hall of Fame.
The Padres entered Game 4 looking to even the series against the Brewers, having avoided elimination with a 4-3 victory in Game 3.
