Jaguars' Emergency Long Snapper Scrambles for Passport During Camping Trip

Former NFL long snapper Jacob Bobenmoyer had his camping trip in Colorado abruptly cut short after receiving an emergency call from the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Bobenmoyer, who previously played for the Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders, was in the midst of changing diapers and camping when he received a text from his agent. The text indicated that the Jaguars might need his services for their upcoming game in London against the Houston Texans. Bobenmoyer promptly headed home, anticipating a potential immediate flight.

Upon receiving the call to join the team in London, Bobenmoyer's immediate concern was locating his passport. "They called me, and I was like, ‘Man, I hope it’s still there,’" he told the Associated Press. He had apparently stored it in a bathroom drawer.

The Jaguars faced a long-snapping crisis during their previous game in London against the Philadelphia Eagles. Starter Ross Matiscik suffered a shoulder injury, forcing defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton to take over snapping duties. This situation led to a high snap on an extra point, contributing to a missed field goal by kicker Cam Little.

Bobenmoyer, 29, brings 97 games of NFL experience to the Jaguars. He entered free agency after the previous season but continued training in anticipation of an opportunity. "I just train and work out exactly how I would if I was with a team," he stated. "It paid off."
