Jade Thirlwall's Song Sees Streaming Surge After Victoria's Secret Show Placement

Jade Thirlwall's debut single, "Angel Of My Dreams," has experienced a massive surge in streaming figures following its prominent use during Kylie Jenner's walk at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. The singer, 33, has seen "Angel Of My Dreams" achieve a 4,300% global increase in streams on Spotify, with overall streams for her music increasing by 760%.

Thirlwall, a former member of the group Little Mix, shared her amusement on social media, joking that "not all angels walk the runway... some of us have got to hold it down in Newcastle." She also posted humorous TikTok videos, including one where she wore a Newcastle football shirt and quipped about being the "angel of the north." Another clip showed her in a rehearsal studio, playfully imagining herself in angel wings and the fantasy bra.

"Angel Of My Dreams" was originally released in July 2024 and previously peaked at number seven on the UK charts. Thirlwall, who launched her solo career after Little Mix's hiatus in 2022, is working on new music while also seeking to give her single its "well deserved moment." She is also preparing to perform at the upcoming Mercury Awards.

Thirlwall first acknowledged the Victoria's Secret moment while traveling on the London Underground, noting humorously that fellow passengers were unaware her debut single was playing as Kylie Jenner modeled the $50 million fantasy bra. Jenner's appearance in the iconic bra marked a significant moment, as it is typically worn by established Victoria's Secret models. This choice, however, drew backlash from some critics and viewers who expressed disappointment online.

Victoria's Secret creative director Adam Selman defended the decision to feature Jenner, telling Vogue that she represents a cultural impact that extends beyond fashion. He described the show as true entertainment and viewed Jenner as a catalyst, highlighting the event's theme of "fandomonium" and the pairing of an unexpected talent with a massive following.

Despite the controversy surrounding Jenner's participation, Thirlwall's song has undeniably benefited from the exposure, leading to increased global recognition and streaming numbers.
