Jacob Elordi's History of Public Friction Resurfaces Amid Paparazzi Confrontation
The 'Euphoria' actor's past tense encounters with photographers and fans highlight a complex relationship with fame.
Jacob Elordi has once again drawn attention to his strained relationship with fame following a recent confrontation with paparazzi in Paris. While walking with girlfriend Kendall Jenner during Fashion Week, Elordi was seen expressing frustration as photographers repeatedly used flash photography.
Footage showed the actor pleading with the photographers to stop and allow the couple to return to their hotel undisturbed. Jenner was observed shielding her face from the flashes, while Elordi eventually donned sunglasses as they continued with security.
This incident is not the first time Elordi has publicly shown his discomfort with the intense scrutiny of celebrity life. In December 2025, while at Paris' Gare du Nord station, Elordi directly told a photographer, "You make it really hard for me to live," after being followed.
Around the same period, Elordi spoke about how his rapid rise to fame, particularly after the 2018 film "The Kissing Booth," left him feeling disoriented. He described the intense internet attention as "so frightening" and likened his experience to living in "The Truman Show."
Elordi's tense encounters have extended beyond paparazzi. In 2025, during the Venice Film Festival premiere of "Frankenstein," he had a sharp exchange with a staff member who appeared to try to move him along while he was posing for photos with fans. Elordi responded, "Don't ever tell me what to do."
Earlier in 2024, a radio producer approached Elordi outside a Sydney pub for a stunt inspired by a scene from "Saltburn." The producer alleged that Elordi pushed him and placed his hands around his throat. New South Wales Police confirmed an investigation into an alleged assault at the time.
Elordi, who was virtually unknown before "The Kissing Booth," has previously expressed how overwhelming sudden fame was, admitting he once considered quitting acting. He has spoken about feeling like a "poster" or a "billboard," with his private life scrutinized, making him feel "for sale" and leading to a "paranoid way of living."
Despite his career successes, including roles in "Euphoria," "Priscilla," and "Saltburn," Elordi's feelings about paparazzi have remained consistent. In a 2023 interview with GQ, he stated bluntly about photographers, "F**k those guys."
His current relationship with Jenner, who has grown up under the constant gaze of cameras, has brought renewed attention to Elordi's private life and his struggles with public visibility.
