Actor Jacob Elordi has disclosed the reason behind his inability to serve as a juror at the Cannes Film Festival, citing a severe foot injury. Elordi revealed on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" that he broke both of his heels earlier this year after jumping from an unspecified height.
His injury occurred around the same time the third season of the HBO series "Euphoria" aired, which Elordi noted led to fan speculation that his cast and moon boot were part of method acting for his character, Nate Jacobs. In the show, Nate's toes are severed by a businessman.
Page Six Hollywood reported in May that Elordi was no longer in consideration for a juror role at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival due to a broken foot. An insider at the time indicated that organizers were seeking a replacement.
The final jury for the 2026 Cannes Film Festival included actors Demi Moore and Stellan Skarsgård, along with filmmakers Chloé Zhao and Ruth Negga, among others.
