Jackson Olson Apologizes to 'DWTS' Castmate Guillermo Rodriguez
Savannah Bananas star Jackson Olson issued a public apology on Instagram to fellow "Dancing With the Stars" contestant Guillermo Rodriguez following a controversial comment.
Jackson Olson, a contestant on "Dancing With the Stars," has publicly apologized to his castmate Guillermo Rodriguez for a comment that caused negativity.
"To G and to all of you, from the bottom of my heart I am so sorry about my comment I made the other day and that it caused this much negativity," Olson wrote on Instagram on Tuesday. He added, "I love this guy ❤️ now let’s do what this show is meant to be about.. DANCE 🕺 ily G."
The Savannah Bananas star, 29, accompanied his apology with a video of himself and Rodriguez dancing, set to the song "Nobody's Perfect" by Hannah Montana.
Olson's apology came after he made a remark on TikTok under a post by Loco Beach Coconuts, a professional baseball team in the Banana Ball Championship League. The video in question featured an athlete performing choreography previously danced by Rodriguez and his professional partner, Witney Carson, on "DWTS." Olson commented, "But seriously, how did you do this better than him with 2 hours of rehearsal," accompanied by a laughing emoji.
Both Olson and Rodriguez participated in "Mariah Carey Night" on "DWTS" on Tuesday. Olson and his partner, Emma Slater, performed a waltz, while Rodriguez and Carson danced a samba.
"Summer House" star Ciara Miller and her partner, Brandon Armstrong, were eliminated at the end of the episode after their jazz routine to "Emotions" received a score of 21 out of 30 from the judges.
New episodes of "Dancing With the Stars" air Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, with episodes streaming on Hulu the following day.
