Jack Stein Announces New Girlfriend Pregnant, Confirms Split from Wife
The son of celebrity chef Rick Stein revealed the news via Instagram, announcing a baby is expected in April 2027, nearly four years after his marriage to artist Lucy Musca.
Jack Stein, the middle son of renowned restaurateur Rick Stein, has announced that his new girlfriend, Sophie Elizabeth Taylor, is pregnant. The news comes after a secret split from his wife of four years, artist Lucy Musca. Stein, 45, shared a photo on Instagram Sunday showing him and Taylor on a clifftop, with Taylor holding a baby scan and their dog.
"One more at the table. April 2027," Stein captioned the image. The couple appeared to be accompanied by celebrity friends, including TOWIE stars Carol and Jess Wright, Ollie Lock, Maura Higgins, and Scarlett Moffatt.
Stein has not publicly disclosed details of his separation from Musca, with whom he shares son Milo and daughter Arla. The couple married in Cornwall in July 2022.
Stein, a chef who has appeared on shows like "Cooking With The Stars" and "Saturday Kitchen," previously spoke about cooking with his then-partner Lucy. He told GQ in a past interview, "My partner is Italian and I mess about with food all the time. When you meet parents who care about food, like my girlfriend's family, who are Sicilian, you eat with them and it's just natural. She cooks naturally and hasn't been formally taught."
This personal development for Jack Stein occurs against a backdrop of his parents' own high-profile marital issues. Rick Stein divorced Jack's mother, Jill, in 2007 after 32 years of marriage, following an affair with Australian publicist Sarah Burns, whom he later married. Rick and Jill Stein continued to co-manage their restaurant empire after their separation.
Jill Stein reflected on the divorce in June, stating, "A separation and divorce is very traumatic, but you learn to get over it. Life’s too short to worry about these things... You just go through it. Some days it wasn’t easy, it was difficult. I’m sure it was difficult for Rick as well, and also for the people that worked with us, but we managed it."
She added, "Nothing is insurmountable, and I’m quite a tough cookie, really. I just thought, ‘Well, I’m not leaving my business because we’ve separated,’ that’s the last thing I wanted to do, and also I wanted to bring my sons on, and it is going to be theirs, eventually. So it was very important to me that I stayed in the business."
