Jack P. Shepherd Debuts Fuller Hair After Third Transplant
Coronation Street actor Jack P. Shepherd shared an update on his latest hair transplant, revealing his satisfaction with the results four months post-procedure.
Coronation Street star Jack P. Shepherd has showcased the results of his third hair transplant, reporting that he is pleased with the growth four months after the procedure.
Shepherd, who plays David Platt on the ITV soap, has undergone the surgical treatment twice before, first in 2018 and again in December 2019. He recently shared an update on his progress, noting that the transplanted hair is nearing its full growth potential.
"They say to expect it to be up to full growth in about six months, so around a couple of months, December time. We should be 'cuzzing it', like Elvis," Shepherd said, referring to the iconic singer's famous quiff. He added, "But yeah, look at that, it's going good innit."
Shepherd explained his decision for a third transplant, stating that baldness can continue to progress over time. "So most people are thinking, 'I thought you'd just get one hair transplant and then it's Elvis'," he said. "But that's not the case apparently, because baldness still progresses as time goes on. So I had one in 2018, 2019 and now. So I've had it all done mainly on the front and sections."
He underwent the latest procedure earlier this year. Discussing the timing, he mentioned it coincided with time off for the birth of his baby. "No because I could see it, I could see it further back in the middle. I could see it going in. So it was sort of 'act now while I could and I had a bit of time off for the baby, so it was perfect," Shepherd recalled.
His decision was made easier by the availability of paternity leave, which allowed for the recovery period. "Paternity and hair transplant," his co-star Colson Smith remarked, to which Shepherd replied, "Exactly that. What a month!"
Shepherd also acknowledged his wife's initial concerns about the timing of the procedure, particularly regarding how he would appear in photographs with their newborn.
