Jack Osbourne: Doctors Warned Ozzy Not to Perform Final Concert

Jack Osbourne has shared that doctors advised his father, Ozzy Osbourne, against performing his final concert due to significant health concerns, including heart and artery issues. The legendary Black Sabbath frontman died just 17 days after his July 5, 2025, farewell performance in Birmingham, England.

During an appearance on "Great Company with Jamie Laing," Jack recalled the doctors' stark warning about the "energy expenditure" required for the performance. "They basically were just saying like you've got so many things going on... We recommend you don't do this because the energy expenditure," Jack explained. He noted that his father had been experiencing "a ton of medical kind of mishaps leading up to the show," including heart problems and artery issues.

Despite the medical advice, Ozzy Osbourne was determined to perform. "They were just like energetically, this is going to... this is not good. This is not good. Like you don't have it in you," Jack said of the doctors' concerns. Ozzy's response, according to his son, was simply, "I'm doing it."

The 10-hour farewell concert, titled "Back to the Beginning," featured Osbourne alongside Black Sabbath bandmates Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi, and Bill Ward, with appearances from numerous other artists. Osbourne was lifted onto the stage seated on a throne and performed hits like "Crazy Train" while remaining seated. "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning," his family stated at the time of his death. "He was with his family and surrounded by love."

Ozzy Osbourne's death certificate listed cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease, and Parkinson's disease as the causes. His wife, Sharon Osbourne, also shared her final moments with the rocker, recounting how he woke her early on the morning of his death, asking for a kiss and a tight hug. She recalled hearing screaming and attempts to resuscitate him, but knew instantly he was gone. Sharon Osbourne admitted that her grief was overwhelming, leading to struggles with functioning and regrets about their final exchange. "If only I'd have told him I loved him more. If only I'd have held him tighter," she said tearfully.
