Jack Cutmore-Scott is set to join the cast of "Best Medicine" for its second season, portraying Parker, a new character who will serve as Dr. Martin Best's professional monitor. The upcoming season of the FOX comedy, inspired by the series "Doc Martin," is slated to premiere this fall.

Parker's arrival in Port Wenn is described as a means to oversee Martin's (Josh Charles) medical compliance. This new role is expected to create further friction for Martin, who is already dealing with the fallout from his blood phobia jeopardizing his career at the end of Season 1. The Maine State Medical Registry is investigating him for allowing a licensed individual to draw blood on his behalf.

Beyond his professional duties, Parker is also slated to develop a romantic connection with Louisa (Abigail Spencer), adding another layer of potential drama. This occurs as Season 1 concluded with Martin on the verge of confessing his feelings to Louisa, only to find her in a significant conversation with Mark (Josh Segarra) about starting a family.

Cutmore-Scott, a British actor, is known for his roles in "Frasier," "The Kingsman: The Secret Service," and "Oppenheimer." His television credits also include "Magnum P.I.," "Hawaii Five-0," and "Law & Order."

"Best Medicine" Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Tuesday, September 22, at 8:00 p.m. ET on FOX. Episodes will be available for streaming on Hulu the following day. Season 1 of the series is currently available on Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+.
