Ivanka Trump attended the White House state dinner for Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday evening, opting for a striking strapless gown for the occasion. The 44-year-old wore a $6,000 Georges Hobeika gown crafted from crystal-embroidered satin, featuring a structured corseted bodice and intricate scrollwork.
President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump hosted Xi Jinping and his wife, Peng Liyuan, in the East Room for the black-tie event. Ivanka was joined by her 15-year-old daughter, Arabella Kushner, who is fluent in Mandarin. Other family members present included Tiffany Trump and Lara Trump.
Earlier in the day, Ivanka Trump also attended the arrival ceremony for President Xi Jinping and Madame Peng Liyuan. For that event, she wore a blue dress with a matching jacket adorned with white floral detailing, paired with pearl earrings and white pumps. Her hair was styled in an updo.
The state dinner featured a multi-course menu blending American and Asian flavors, with performances by military musicians and tenor Christopher Macchio. Guests raised glasses of Schramsberg 'Blanc De Noirs' in a toast, a nod to the historic 1972 toast between President Richard Nixon and Premier Zhou Enlai.
