Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner recently visited Iceland for a family vacation, opting for the Nordic country's cooler climate as an escape from summer heat. Trump shared several photos on social media documenting their outdoor adventures.
The images featured the couple exploring Iceland's natural scenery, including a moment captured in front of a waterfall and another showing them sharing a kiss. Their three children, Arabella, Joseph, and Theodore, were also part of the trip, with one photo showing the family of five outside a home. The family also visited the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa.
Trump, 44, and Kushner, 45, have been together for nearly two decades, having met in 2007 and married in 2009. Their trip highlights Iceland as a destination for a "coolcation," a term for a getaway focused on escaping high summer temperatures for cooler locations.
Iceland offers milder weather during its busiest travel period from June to August, with longer days conducive to outdoor activities. Temperatures in Reykjavík typically range in the 50s Fahrenheit, even during summer. The season also allows access to areas like mountain roads and hiking trails, and it is a popular time for whale watching.
Other destinations offering similar cool-weather escapes include Norway and Scotland. Norway provides temperatures in the high 50s in its northern and coastal areas, with extended daylight hours for exploring fjords and coastal communities. Scotland sees temperatures around 63 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer, allowing visitors to explore the Highlands, castles, and coastlines.
