An Israeli citizen has been sentenced in Arizona after pleading guilty to a conspiracy to steal trade secrets from a semiconductor technology company. Guy Galanti, 48, received a sentence of time served and three years of supervised release on Monday.
Galanti had been in custody since his arrest in September 2025. He pleaded guilty on May 26 to conspiring to steal proprietary technology developed by Green Technology Investments (GTI), an Arizona-based company that services and refurbishes semiconductor testing equipment. The technology in question is GTI's “Glass Detect Design,” a system used to identify microscopic defects in glass semiconductor wafers.
According to court filings, investigators alleged that Galanti, a senior manager at GTI, shared confidential photos, software, and technical information with an associate linked to a competing company in Taiwan. This alleged activity spanned from January 2025 to August 2025. Authorities stated that Galanti and his co-conspirator communicated via encrypted messaging platforms, deleted records of their communications, and used fabricated invoices to conceal payments. Prosecutors indicated that the co-conspirator aimed to recreate GTI’s new design while operating a Taiwanese company that directly competed with GTI.
