The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted overnight strikes targeting Hamas terrorist infrastructure across the Gaza Strip, according to a statement released Monday. The targeted sites included an arms storage facility, a weapons production site, and a rocket launch pad.

The IDF stated that the dismantled weapons were intended to be used against Israeli soldiers operating near the "Yellow Line" and against Israeli civilians. The military added that forces remain deployed in the enclave under the terms of a U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement and will continue operations to neutralize threats.

The ceasefire, which took effect on October 10, 2025, ended a two-year conflict that began with Hamas and other Palestinian militant groups invading the northwestern Negev on October 7, 2023. That incursion resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,200 people, primarily civilians, and the taking of 251 hostages.

This action follows a recent IDF operation on Thursday that resulted in the killing of a Hamas terrorist identified as having participated in holding Israeli captives during the October 7 attack. The IDF and the Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet) jointly announced that the individual, Anas Mahmoud Ahmed Hamdan, served as a Hamas company commander and was responsible for propaganda efforts for Hamas’s Khan Yunis Brigade. He was also reported to have been a close aide to senior commanders within Hamas's military wing, including Mohammed Deif and Rafaa Salameh.
