Former NBA veteran Isaiah Rider has been arrested for a third time in less than a year, this time in Arizona for failing to comply with a court order, TMZ reported Sunday night. Rider was taken into custody on Thursday and booked into jail Friday morning. He is expected to remain in custody until Tuesday to address the misdemeanor charge, which resulted in a guilty finding.

This latest arrest adds to a series of legal issues Rider has encountered since December. In December, he was jailed twice in relation to a protective order filed by his estranged wife, Vanessa. It remains unclear if the current arrest is connected to that protective order.

Rider was initially arrested on December 4 in Gilbert, Arizona, for violating a court order and was charged with interfering with judicial proceedings. He was arrested again on December 15 after failing to appear in court for a hearing that would determine whether the protective order against him would be extended.

When Vanessa Rider filed for the order of protection last summer, she alleged that Rider had exhibited hostile behavior towards her and their 15-year-old son, reportedly making threats. The former basketball player has denied these allegations, attributing them to their contentious divorce proceedings, which he initiated in November 2024.

Rider played nine seasons in the NBA from 1993 to 2002 with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trail Blazers, Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Lakers, and Denver Nuggets. He won an NBA championship with the Lakers in 2001 and the Slam Dunk Contest in 1994.
