Drummer Nicko McBrain, a member of the iconic heavy metal band Iron Maiden, has voiced strong criticism of former President Donald Trump, stating that Trump and his associates should be imprisoned.
McBrain, who resides in Florida, indicated his proximity to Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort, noting, "Too fucking close, mate." He recounted an invitation to play golf with Trump, extended by a Republican friend, which he declined. "No mate," McBrain reportedly said.
Speaking to The Telegraph, McBrain shared his disapproval, stating, "I’m not politically inclined, although I must be because I have my thoughts about him. I’m not amused by the narcissism, and all this kerfuffle about the Epstein files and whatnot, and especially the debauched war that he’s put on Iran."
When asked about another political figure, Pete Hegseth, McBrain commented on the ongoing discussions about potential imprisonment. In his final remarks on the matter, McBrain declared, "My last word on Trump and his bunch of cronies is, they should be put in jail."
In 2023, McBrain experienced a stroke that caused temporary paralysis on his right side. After undergoing intensive therapy, he was able to resume drumming but had to adjust his technique for Iron Maiden's 2023-2024 tour. He retired from touring in 2024 but remains a member of the band, which is slated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame next month.
