Ireland Baldwin has publicly addressed the hospitalization of gossip blogger Perez Hilton, detailing a history of hurtful remarks and actions by Hilton directed at her family. Hilton was hospitalized on Tuesday after a livestream that appeared to show him self-harming with a knife.

In a statement posted to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, Baldwin, daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger, recounted her experiences with Hilton. She stated that Hilton had "publicly humiliated my family for years, sexualized me from a young age, commented on my weight and body (as a child), made unforgivable comments about people in my family, drew j*** coming out of my mom’s and friend’s mouths, and has always been a despicable human being."

Despite her criticisms, Baldwin expressed sympathy for Hilton's children and hopes for his recovery. "But his children deserve better and a healthy father and I am so sad for all of them," she wrote. "I hope he gets the help he needs and heals."

Baldwin's statement follows comments from Hilton's family, who confirmed he was receiving medical care. "We can confirm that Perez is receiving medical care and our family's focus right now is on his well-being," a statement read. "If and when we are able to share any updates, we will do so with everyone as soon as we can."

Police were dispatched to Hilton's Miami home on Tuesday evening after receiving multiple emergency calls regarding his behavior during a TikTok livestream. Surveillance footage captured officers attempting to coax Hilton, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira Jr., out of his residence. Authorities later confirmed that Hilton had been "safely recovered and transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital, where he is receiving medical attention."

Hilton, a father of three, has a history of controversial public behavior. In March, he revealed he had spent 21 days in the hospital battling sepsis, which he attributed to taking flu medication on an empty stomach. During his recovery, Hilton spoke about finding God and expressed remorse for past actions, stating he had "made a lot of mistakes in the past which are very public. Which I own. Which I regret, which I have deep shame for, which I've apologized for repeatedly, publicly as well as privately."

Hilton's account was later suspended by TikTok, and the video has been removed from the platform. Representatives for Hilton stated they were aware of the content and that their primary concern was his health and well-being.
