Sadiq Farhad Azad, 33, appeared before Portsmouth Magistrates' Court on charges related to an alleged rape of a 14-year-old boy and stalking a woman in Portsmouth. Azad, who is of no fixed abode, faces accusations of raping the boy in an alleyway off London Road after speaking to him on a bus and following him. This incident was reported to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary on August 11, with an investigation launched five days later.

During the investigation, a woman in her 20s reported being stalked by a man for approximately one year and alleged damage to a family member's car. Police inquiries led to Azad's arrest for both sets of offenses.

Azad has been charged with rape of a child aged 13 to 15, stalking, and criminal damage to property valued at less than £5,000. The prosecution described the alleged sexual offense and stalking as displaying "particularly dangerous behaviour."

No bail application was made, and Azad is being held in custody. His case has been sent to Portsmouth Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing scheduled for October 5, 2026. Judge Anthony Callaway presided over the initial court appearance.
