Lindsey Burrell, a former beauty queen and anchor at Nexstar's WHO13 in Des Moines, Iowa, is set to conclude her three-year tenure at the station next week. The independent TV news industry blog FTVLive first reported Burrell's departure, noting that speculation suggests she may be moving to Florida, where her boyfriend, WFLA sports anchor Jeff Dubrof, is located.
Burrell joined WHO13 in January 2023, taking on roles as an anchor and reporter for weekday newscasts. She also filled in on other broadcasts, covered breaking news and significant local events, and contributed reports to Nexstar's national cable network, NewsNation. Her responsibilities at the station included producing the "Remarkable Women" special, conducting long-form political interviews, and reporting on community issues, education, government, and public safety. She also covered Iowa's inaugural NASCAR Cup Series race for Nexstar.
Before her time in Iowa, Burrell worked as an anchor, reporter, and producer at KOTA Territory News and KEVN Black Hills FOX in Rapid City, South Dakota, from August 2021 to December 2022. Her television career also includes experience across South Carolina.

Burrell's connection to the Miss America organization predates her broadcast journalism career. In 2021, she was first runner-up at the Miss South Carolina competition, having also held the title of Miss Spartanburg and receiving over $13,000 in scholarship awards.
Her relationship with Dubrof has become more public over the past year through social media. Dubrof previously worked as a sports reporter and weekend sports anchor at KCCI in Des Moines before relocating to WFLA in Tampa in October. For nearly three years, Burrell and Dubrof worked in the same television market at competing stations before Dubrof's move to Florida. Both journalists have since become employees of different Nexstar-owned stations in separate markets.
Burrell has not publicly announced her future career plans, and she declined to comment when reached. The Post has sought comment from WHO13 and Dubrof.
