Investigation into Presley Gerber's Sober Home Finds No Wrongdoing

An investigation into the Resolutions Living sober home, where Presley Gerber was staying prior to his suspected fatal overdose, has concluded without finding evidence of wrongdoing. The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) reviewed the facility's practices after a reform advocate filed a complaint following Gerber's death on September 20.

The complaint requested that the DHCS examine whether the facility operated outside its lawful scope and if it admitted an individual requiring a higher level of care than it could provide. Reports indicating Gerber did not appear sober upon admission to the facility were included in the inquiry, raising questions about his screening, supervision, and the determination of his care level.

Specifically, the inquiry sought to determine if an individual reportedly under the influence was admitted to a sober living residence not authorized to provide the necessary care, and if Resolutions Living offered services beyond the scope of sober housing, such as regulated addiction treatment, detoxification, or clinical monitoring.

However, the DHCS ultimately determined that the allegations made in the complaint were "not substantiated."

Presley Gerber, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, had been open about his struggles with addiction and mental health. He was admitted to Resolutions Living, a sober home in Santa Monica, California, the day before his suspected overdose.

Resolutions Living, established in 2013 by Dr. Reza Nabavi, provides mental health and addiction support. Page Six reported that Nabavi had previously faced a denial of his psychology license due to a criminal history, but was able to register in December 2006.

Gerber's family released a statement expressing their heartbreak over the loss, remembering him as a "sweet, beautiful soul." His sister, Kaia Gerber, also shared a heartfelt tribute.

The model's death remains under police investigation. Representatives for Nabavi, Resolutions Living, and the Gerber family did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
