Inmate records from Jason Galanis, fiancé to Savannah Chrisley, indicate he received positive evaluations for his behavior and contributions while incarcerated. According to a July 2017 work performance evaluation from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, obtained by TMZ, Galanis was serving as a volunteer tutor at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York.
Prison officials reportedly noted that Galanis tutored fellow inmates and encouraged them to pursue educational goals. His evaluation reportedly included high ratings in categories such as quality and quantity of work, initiative, willingness to learn, and ability to work with others. The records also suggest that prison officials would have promoted Galanis to a more demanding role with higher pay if he were employed outside of the correctional facility.
Galanis, who has been described as a former business partner of Hunter Biden, was sentenced in September 2020 to 189 months in prison for his involvement in multiple securities fraud schemes. He had been found guilty of defrauding a Native American tribe and investors out of tens of millions of dollars. Prior to this, he received a prison sentence in 2017 for separate fraud schemes, though these convictions were later vacated. He also served time at a federal prison in Pensacola, Florida, in 2023, where he was incarcerated alongside Savannah Chrisley's father, Todd Chrisley, before both received pardons from President Trump in March 2025.
Savannah Chrisley, who is pregnant and engaged to Galanis, announced their engagement in December 2025, approximately five months after they began dating. She stated on her podcast that they met through political circles while she was advocating for her parents' release from prison. The couple has a 27-year age difference. Galanis' brother, Derek, has publicly expressed skepticism about Galanis' reformation, referring to Savannah as his brother's "biggest con yet."
