Injured Giants Stars Celebrate Dramatic Victory From Sidelines
Linebacker Brian Burns and quarterback Jaxson Dart, both sidelined with season-ending knee injuries, shared their enthusiastic reactions to the Giants' game-sealing interception return on social media.
New York Giants players Brian Burns and Jaxson Dart, both currently out with knee injuries, expressed their excitement remotely as their team secured a crucial victory. The two athletes posted videos on social media platforms showing their celebrations during the final play of Sunday's 36-24 win against the Arizona Cardinals at MetLife Stadium.
Linebacker Brian Burns, who underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL in his right knee, was heard exclaiming "Take that s–t to the crib, boy!" during a replay of Deonte Banks' 98-yard interception return for a touchdown. Burns shared his reaction via his Instagram Stories, adding "Wish y’all would’ve got my real reaction. That’s what I’m talking about, man. Yeah, D-Dog."
Quarterback Jaxson Dart, who had surgery on his left knee on September 25, was shown on his girlfriend Marissa Ayers' Instagram Stories with his hands raised and shouting "Atta boy" and "Oh my god" as Banks scored. Ayers could also be heard laughing at Dart's enthusiastic response.
The Giants' win improved their record and was sealed by Banks' defensive touchdown in the closing moments of the game. Jameis Winston, filling in at quarterback for Dart, completed 18 of 29 passes for 250 yards, throwing three touchdowns and two interceptions. Rookie defender Arvell Reese also contributed to the team's success with nine tackles and an interception.
