Ingrid Boulting, the 79-year-old former actress and model, was recently seen on a rare public outing in Ojai, California, walking her dogs. Boulting, who graced the covers of Vogue in the 1960s and 1970s, previously starred as Robert De Niro's romantic interest in the 1976 film "The Last Tycoon."
"The Last Tycoon" was the final film directed by Elia Kazan and was based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's unfinished novel. The story centers on Monroe Stahr, a driven 1930s Hollywood executive loosely based on producer Irving Thalberg, with Boulting playing his love interest, Kathleen Moore.
Boulting's career began with ballet training at the Royal Ballet School in Richmond. She appeared on four British Vogue covers, including work by photographers David Bailey and Norman Parkinson. Her acting career started at the Oxford Playhouse, followed by roles in British films before she transitioned to modeling.
Her filmography includes "The Witches" (1966), "The Jokers" (1967), "Inadmissible Evidence" (1968), and "The Last Roman" (1968), prior to her role in "The Last Tycoon." She also appeared in the 2006 film "Conversations with God."
Boulting comes from a family with ties to the arts; her mother was actress Enid Munnik, and her stepfather was filmmaker Roy Boulting. She was raised by her grandparents from age two to nine while her mother pursued a modeling career in London. Boulting herself has moved away from acting and now works as a yoga instructor in Ojai, where she founded Sacred Space Studio.
