Influencer Nara Smith shared intimate photos of her 2-year-old daughter Whimsy Lou's cancer journey on Instagram Friday, two days after publicly revealing the diagnosis.
In a series of images, Smith, 24, showed her daughter's bald head adorned with gems, a picture of Whimsy's shorn curls, and a "Happy Birthday" banner hanging above a hospital bed. The post also included children's books about cancer and snapshots of Whimsy with her 8-month-old sister, Fawnie Golden, and with her father, Lucky Blue Smith, 28, at the hospital.
"Sharing something this vulnerable wasn’t an easy decision but seeing every message, prayer, story of a similar experience and kindness has made it a little easier," Nara Smith captioned the post. She extended her thoughts to "every family or parent walking through something heavy right now."
Smith announced Whimsy's health struggles on Wednesday, stating that the diagnosis occurred late last year. She expressed hope that her announcement would offer comfort and alleviate feelings of loneliness for others facing similar challenges and encourage followers to seek medical attention for any concerns.
Nara and Lucky Blue Smith are also parents to 5-year-old daughter Rumble Honey and 4-year-old son Slim Easy. The couple married in 2020. Lucky Blue Smith also has an 8-year-old daughter, Gravity, from a previous relationship.
