Influencer Names Baby After Late Mother, Honoring Legacy
Dominique Elissa and Tom Bull welcomed their first child, a daughter named Gia Odile, with the middle name a tribute to Elissa's mother who died of cancer.
Australian content creator Dominique Elissa and her husband Tom Bull welcomed their first child together on October 9. The couple announced the birth of their daughter, Gia Odile Bull, on Thursday, sharing intimate photos from the birth.
Elissa, 31, revealed in the caption that her newborn's middle name honors her late mother, Odile Faludi, who died of cancer last year. "Our little girl surprised us hard and fast, ready to meet us in full swing," Elissa wrote. "We've been soaking up our little love bubble and savouring each moment together as a family."
Hours after the initial announcement, the new parents shared a video of the water birth, expressing their joy. "The best surprise ever. Our hearts exploded with love the moment we saw we had a little girl," Elissa captioned the clip. "Gia's middle name is after my beautiful mum, carrying on her legacy even without her here."
Dominique's mother, Odile Faludi, was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and passed away last year. Elissa and her husband Tom held their first wedding ceremony at the Prince of Wales Hospital just two weeks after getting engaged in March 2025. Elissa had moved her wedding to the hospital as her mother's health declined, stating at the time that she was initially "upset, angry and a mess" but realized the importance of uniting their families.
The couple later held a second wedding celebration in Sicily at a 14th-century castle. Elissa wore a custom-made gown for the ceremony and changed into a Babette maxi dress for the reception.
