Influencer Mom Shares Ordeal After Daughter Vanishes for 19 Hours
Lauren Zeigler, known for her online content about being a mom of nine, detailed the terrifying experience of a 19-hour search for her two-year-old daughter.
Influencer Lauren Zeigler has recounted the harrowing 19 hours her two-year-old daughter, Bridget, was missing from their Virginia home.
Zeigler, who has garnered over 150,000 followers on Instagram for documenting her life as a mother of nine, described the incident as the "most horrifying experience" of her life. The toddler was found safe approximately 1,000 feet from the home, a little scratched by thorns but otherwise unharmed, following an extensive search that involved the FBI, local fire and police departments, helicopters, drones, civilians, and search dogs.
According to Zeigler's account on Instagram, the family was outside on Thursday evening. Her husband, Nathan, was working on the front door, with Bridget assisting him. Around 7 p.m., Zeigler went to bring the children inside for dinner and noticed Bridget was not with her six and four-year-old siblings. Her husband was alerted, and by approximately 7:15 p.m., police had been contacted.
Their home is situated near about 200 acres of dense woods, described as difficult to navigate due to vines and thorns. Bridget had never before ventured into the woods.
Bridget was eventually discovered by a dog, found in a thicket. Zeigler expressed immense gratitude for the widespread assistance during the search, calling the outpouring of support "incredible."
