Influencer Matilda Baxter Faces Backlash Over Partner's 'Throat' Tattoo

Controversial Australian influencer Matilda Baxter has drawn criticism after posting a photo of her partner's new hand tattoo, which reads "Matilda's throat here."

The 23-year-old influencer shared the image on social media, showing the tattoo spanning her partner Alessandro Della-Verdes' hand from thumb to index finger. The inking quickly ignited a firestorm of negative reactions from online users.

Many social media users expressed shock and disapproval. "I feel as if this has gone one step too far," one commenter stated, while another asked, "Would I want my partner to have that? No!" Other reactions ranged from "May be a kink, but still cringe" and "How embarrassing" to more visceral responses like "Yuck. WTF, vomit." Some users also voiced concerns about the implication of the tattoo, with one noting, "There is no safe way to 'choke' someone, kink, consensual or otherwise," and another adding, "Consensual or not, can have very severe side effects."

The Daily Mail noted that this specific tattoo is common in certain communities and is sometimes viewed by couples as a symbol of intimacy.

This incident follows other controversies surrounding Baxter. She recently underwent a "Barbie waist" procedure and experienced health concerns in the weeks following a rib contouring surgery. Earlier this year, she garnered attention for posting a video of herself in lingerie showcasing her altered figure.

Baxter has also spoken about her struggles with a dangerous tanning addiction. She uses a combination of tanning peptides, which are not approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), along with a home solarium. The TGA has warned that peptides like melanotan can cause serious health problems. Despite these warnings, personal use of such devices is permitted, and Baxter reportedly uses her $7,000 solarium at least four times a week.
