Influencer Madeleine White Fedyk has stated that her dog, Dunkin, died while under the care of a dog trainer, alleging heat exhaustion as the cause.
White, a 30-year-old British model and the wife of DJ Andrew Fedyk, shared the news on Instagram, describing herself and her husband as "absolutely broken." According to White, the couple left their two-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog for basic leash training while they were out of town. Within 48 hours, they received a call stating Dunkin had been training in extreme heat and was being transferred to a boarding facility they had not approved.
"He was never even taken to a vet. We were called hours later," White stated in her Instagram Stories. She shared photos of Dunkin, describing the family as "broken, confused and angry." She added, "I don't think we will ever know the truth about what happened to our Dunkin munch."
Andrew Fedyk, known as one half of the electronic dance music duo Loud Luxury, told KTLA that the couple paid $10,000 for their two dogs to participate in the training program. He expressed being "sick to my stomach" over the loss of his "best friend." Fedyk plans to have Dunkin undergo an autopsy to ascertain the cause of his death.
The incident comes weeks after White gave birth to the couple's first child, a daughter named Juliette July Fedyk, in June.
