Influencer Iidasofya Dies at 23 After Livestreamed Incident
The controversial content creator, whose full name was Iida-Sofia Heimonen, died days after a widely broadcast incident that led to her hospitalization.
Influencer Iidasofya, whose full name was Iida-Sofia Heimonen, has died at the age of 23. Her death followed a 'suicide attempt' that was reportedly broadcast during a livestream.
Emergency services responded to a self-harm incident linked to a social media post on October 15, after receiving multiple reports. Iidasofya was taken to the hospital in critical condition and died five days later.
A friend, Susanna Lehto, confirmed Iidasofya's passing in a TikTok video on Tuesday, sharing a clip of them together with the caption, "I will miss you forever. Have a safe journey, my dear."
Another internet personality, Johanna Tukiainen, who had publicly expressed hope for her recovery, called Iidasofya's death a "great sadness."
Based in Kotka, Finland, Iidasofya had cultivated a significant following across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, and Kick. Her content was often described as outspoken and 'chaotic.' She also maintained an account on the subscription-based platform OnlyFans.
According to Finnish reports, Iidasofya was facing accusations including rape, illegal threats, and drug offenses. She was reportedly scheduled to appear in criminal court later this year to face these charges. A police investigation into her death is currently underway.
This incident follows the recent death of gaming influencer Manuel Otto, who also died by suicide during a live stream. Otto, 30, was the creator of the popular multiplayer game Stick Run, which he masterminded at age 14. His death was confirmed by the Stick Run company via a statement on X (formerly Twitter), which expressed deep concern and urged respect for privacy while discouraging the spread of unverified information.
