A backyard boxing match organized to settle an online feud between two 'mumfluencers' devolved into controversy, resulting in the winner being disqualified and denied payment.
An unsanctioned backyard boxing match, staged to resolve an online dispute between two Australian "mumfluencers," has led to chaos and a stripped title for the victor. The event, organized by The Fight Yard, saw Brisbane influencer Sapphire Killeen compete against Gold Coast mother of three Madi Hale.
Killeen was initially crowned the winner of the bout. However, within days, she was stripped of her title and has reportedly not received her appearance fee. The Fight Yard founder, Tee Utia, took to TikTok to defend his decisions, denying any bias towards Hale, who has since been crowned Queen of the Yard.
Killeen expressed regret over participating in the fight, telling the Daily Mail that she began to feel unsafe as the match progressed. She had previously called out Jess Te Huia, associated with the "Daily Mail Stepmum in the Bed saga."
This incident is not the first time The Fight Yard has attracted attention. Police have previously been called to unregulated boxing matches organized by the group in a Brisbane recreation area, highlighting concerns about the safety and legitimacy of such events. The situation underscores the potential for online feuds to escalate into real-world confrontations, with unpredictable consequences for those involved.
