Australian influencer Sam Guggenheimer, 24, has drawn attention after appearing to edit a vape from a holiday photograph shared with her boyfriend, Ryan Maloney. The vape was present in the version of the photo posted by Maloney, but conspicuously absent from Guggenheimer's.
The couple, who became Instagram official in May, were pictured on a European holiday. In Guggenheimer's edited photo, a bright pink vape that was visible on the ground in Maloney's post has been digitally removed. Apart from the vape, the two images are identical.
Maloney, known for his public persona and lifestyle, is the son of pub baron Kim Maloney and socialite Di Maloney. He is recognized on Sydney's Eastern Suburbs party circuit.
Guggenheimer has previously been involved in public disputes with other influencers. Last month, she and fellow influencer Bill Barker reportedly ended a six-year friendship following a controversy over a fat-shaming comment. The incident occurred in March when Barker made a remark about body weight in a video posted by Guggenheimer. She later issued an apology for posting the video, stating the comment was inappropriate and unacceptable, though she later referred to it as a "joke" during a livestream.
