American 'looksmaxxing' influencer Connor Murphy drowned in a lake in Thailand on July 7 after allegedly attempting to flee police. According to Australian influencer Androgenic, whose real name is Ronan, Murphy had been injecting melted gold jewelry shortly before his death.

Androgenic, a friend of Murphy's, shared that Murphy believed injecting gold would help him "tap into higher levels of consciousness." He also claimed that Murphy was "covered in discolouration from gold poisoning" and experienced erratic behavior, including screaming and running around his neighborhood, which ultimately led to police involvement.

Police were called to Murphy's apartment in Bang Phli early Tuesday morning after neighbors reported hearing a man screaming. Upon their arrival, Murphy fled the scene and jumped into a nearby eight-foot-deep lake. Witnesses reported he struggled to stay afloat for several hours before vanishing beneath the surface. Divers later recovered his body.

Officials found paint smeared on the walls and furniture, along with significant amounts of trash in his home. Two unused syringes were discovered in his car. Police Captain Weeraphong Rupsuay noted Murphy's apparent religious behavior and agitation with officers, stating he had not displayed such frantic behavior before.

Androgenic also revealed that Murphy had been planning to fake his own death just four days prior to his actual drowning. This plan was reportedly for a documentary. "I thought it was fake but the more I looked into it, it became clear that it was real," Androgenic said.

Murphy, who had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, is described by Androgenic as "so deeply misunderstood." His remains are scheduled for a post-mortem examination outside of Bangkok, and local authorities have not yet released an official cause of death.
