Influencer 'Clavicular' Pleads Not Guilty to Rape Charges, Posts Bail

Braden Peters, 20, an influencer known online as "Clavicular," pleaded not guilty Thursday in Orleans District Court to charges related to an alleged rape. Peters posted $10,000 bail in connection with the charges, according to a court clerk.

The alleged incident occurred in 2025 at Peters' family home on Cape Cod and involved a 17-year-old victim, according to reports. Peters, who has a significant online following for his "looksmaxxing" content, appeared in court with a dog, which a former criminal defense attorney suggested could have served as a "support mechanism."

While bringing a dog to court is not necessarily unusual, with animals often left outside on a leash or with another person, a dog is typically not permitted inside the courthouse. Attorneys for Peters filed a memorandum asking the court for his release on cash bail, arguing he is neither a flight risk nor a danger to the community and offered to surrender his passport.

Peters' attorney, David Meier, stated that Peters "categorically denies these allegations." He added that the allegations first arose in June 2026, shortly before a civil lawsuit was filed, suggesting a potential financial motive.

Peters has amassed over one million followers on Instagram, where he provides advice on appearance and rates individuals' looks. Prior to this case, he was arrested in Florida on battery charges following an altercation at an Airbnb property.

The Cape & Islands District Attorney's Office declined to comment on the ongoing case.
