An influencer who is known for her resemblance to Kylie Jenner has claimed that her appearance may have impacted her ability to pass her driving test. Julia Medeiros, 24, who resides in Miami, reported needing five attempts to obtain her driver's license, a process that took about a year while she was living in Brazil. She told the Daily Mail that while she acknowledged making nervousness-induced mistakes during the practical exams, she also recalled examiners making remarks about her looks.
Medeiros stated that the comments, while not inappropriate, often included observations such as, "You look too glamorous to be here today," or "You look like an actress or model." She also recounted instances where examiners inquired if she worked in social media or modeling before the test even began. Initially, she dismissed these comments, but after repeated failures, she began to consider their potential influence.
"The first time, I thought it was just anxiety. I got nervous, made mistakes and failed. It seemed completely normal," Medeiros said. However, she noted that after her third or fourth attempt, she started to notice a pattern of remarks directed at her face, appearance, or attire. "That's when I started questioning whether my appearance was influencing the way I was being judged," she explained.
Medeiros admitted that while she might genuinely have been a less proficient driver at the time, the consistent comments led her to wonder if examiners were focusing more on her than on her driving. "I can't say those comments changed the outcome because I have no way of proving that," she stated. "But when you fail once, you blame yourself. When it happens five times, you start replaying everything in your head, including the comments people made."
She believes that years of dealing with comments about her appearance may have shaped how she interpreted the situation during the driving tests. Although she ultimately passed on her fifth attempt and obtained her license, Medeiros looks back on the experience as one of the more unusual episodes in her life. "When something keeps happening over and over again, you naturally start looking for explanations," she said. "I'll never know for sure, but it definitely crossed my mind that my appearance may have played a role."
