Australian influencer Annie Knight, 28, is weeks away from her wedding to fiancé Henry Brayshaw, the son of Australian sporting figure James Brayshaw. Knight has revealed that James Brayshaw will not be attending the ceremony due to a falling out with his son.
"I think it's been a bit hard for him with the wedding coming up. Obviously it's tough, we always do our best to just focus on the positives," Knight told The Daily Telegraph. She added that while the future father-in-law will not be present, "We have his beautiful mum coming, his beautiful brothers. I've got my family coming. We're so lucky to have such supportive family."
Knight and Brayshaw have been open about personal challenges they have navigated, including Brayshaw's gambling addiction, which reportedly led to a debt of $180,000. Knight shared that supporting him through this period had taken an emotional toll.
"When your partner is struggling with something, you take it on. I was trying to pick up the pieces for Henry, but I didn't realise I was suffering," Knight said.
The upcoming wedding is also notable for its significant cost, estimated at $170,000. Key expenses include $60,000 for the venue, which covers a wedding coordinator, food, and alcohol. Accommodation and flights for family members total $4,000, while groomsmen's accommodation is also $4,000. Knight's dress is $12,000, Henry's ring is $3,000, and two reception dresses cost $5,000. Her wedding shoes were $3,000, the cake was $850, bridesmaids' dresses amounted to $3,000, and groomsmen's outfits cost $7,000. Hair and makeup for Knight and her bridesmaids is $4,000, and photography and videography services are $10,000. Social content creation was an additional $2,700, and the celebrant cost $2,000. Knight noted that the total was slightly above her initial budget but expressed satisfaction.
This expenditure is approximately five times the average wedding cost in Australia, which is around $35,000. Knight and Brayshaw announced their engagement in March of the previous year, with Knight showcasing an oval-shaped diamond engagement ring reportedly valued up to $200,000.
