Indiana Woman Arrested for Drunkenly Doing Donuts on Courthouse Lawn
A 67-year-old woman faces multiple charges after a video captured her allegedly driving under the influence on county property.
A 67-year-old Indiana woman was arrested on Monday after allegedly driving drunk and performing "donuts" on the lawn of the Jennings County Courthouse. Video footage released by the Jennings County Sheriff's Office shows a vehicle circling trees, light posts, and a bench, damaging a sign and leaving skid marks across the grass.
The sheriff's office stated in a Facebook post, "If you’ve had a few too many margaritas with dinner, please don’t get behind the wheel, and definitely don’t do donuts on the courthouse lawn."
The woman, identified as Lorraine Wilkerson of North Vernon, was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08 or more, along with numerous other charges. She was booked into the Jennings County Jail and released on a $950 bond.
"Yesterday afternoon, a [67]-year-old woman was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated, along with numerous other charges, following an incident at the courthouse," the sheriff's office stated. "We encourage everyone to enjoy themselves responsibly and always make arrangements for a safe ride home if you’ve been drinking."
