Cassidy Carter, a former substitute teacher in Indiana, has been sentenced to two years in jail after pleading guilty to battery charges stemming from sending nude images of herself to a 14-year-old middle school student. A judge issued the sentence, with Carter receiving two days of credit.

Carter was initially charged with child solicitation. However, the charges were amended after the victim moved out of the area and expressed a desire not to be involved further in the case, according to Dearborn County Prosecutor Lynn Deddens. Carter, who was 21 at the time of the incident, was employed by the South Dearborn Community School Corporation.

The unidentified student reported the interaction to a school resource officer in December 2023, who then alerted the principal. Court records indicate the student had befriended Carter on Snapchat. During their online communications, Carter allegedly sent the student nude photos of herself, often late at night, and told him she was in love with him. Investigators reportedly found the images and messages on Carter’s phone.
