The newest In-N-Out Burger location has opened its doors at Irvine's Great Park, drawing crowds of customers on its first day. The restaurant is a key component of The Canopy, a 12-acre, 90,000-square-foot outdoor shopping and dining destination.
The Great Park development in Irvine is a $1 billion project encompassing approximately 1,300 acres, significantly larger than Central Park in New York City. The new In-N-Out location features a 3,808-square-foot indoor dining room with 84 seats, a 500-square-foot patio, and a drive-thru lane designed to accommodate 33 vehicles. Operating hours are set from 10:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, and until 1:30 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Other businesses slated to open at The Canopy include Philz Coffee, The Taco Stand, H&H Bagels, SHOOTZ, and T&T Supermarket. The broader Great Park project includes plans for a 10,000-seat amphitheater known as The Amp, a 194-acre athletics hub with various sports facilities, and a large soccer stadium.
Future developments at the Great Park also encompass the "Cultural Terrace," an arts and museum district that will house institutions like the Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum and the Asian American History Museum. Additionally, a botanical garden with themed spaces and a Veterans Memorial park are planned. While parts of the Great Park are already operational, major phased developments are expected to continue through 2028 and 2029.
