In-N-Out Burger is expanding its footprint with six new locations planned across California, Arizona, Utah, and Idaho. The Southern California-based company, known for its Double Double and Animal Style fries, has added these sites to its grand opening page, signaling continued growth in its established Western markets.

The new California locations are slated for Commerce and Irvine, with a Northern California spot planned for Stockton. Arizona will see a new restaurant in San Tan Valley, while Utah gets a new location in St. George. Idaho's expansion includes a new restaurant in Twin Falls.

Despite this expansion, In-N-Out’s CEO and granddaughter of the founders, Lynsi Snyder, has stated that the East Coast is not a target market for the foreseeable future. Snyder emphasized during a recent speech that the chain’s commitment to never-frozen ingredients and made-to-order burgers would be compromised by such a move. "I don’t see us being on the East Coast in my lifetime," Snyder said in April, adding that the company will not "compromise on quality just to expand."

The company, which currently operates over 430 locations across 10 states, has maintained a deliberate pace of growth. Snyder also previously vetoed the idea of online ordering and pickup services, prioritizing the integrity of the customer experience.

Separately, a planned In-N-Out location in Palm Springs, California, is facing potential delays. The Palm Springs Planning Commission is reviewing the site's design, with some commissioners and residents expressing concerns that the proposed architecture does not align with the city's distinctive mid-century modern character. While In-N-Out representatives have argued the design is tailored for the area, the commission has continued the project for further review, requiring recommended changes before final architectural approval. The project, which has been under review since 2024, originally anticipated an opening in late 2027 or early 2028, but no revised timeline has been announced.
