Immigration Raid at Florida Food Truck Sparks Protest, GoFundMe
Video shows workers fleeing from ICE agents, leading to the food truck's closure and community mobilization.
An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raid at a Tallahassee, Florida food truck resulted in chaos as workers attempted to evade federal agents, according to video obtained by Fox News Digital. The incident on Friday led to the closure of Chile & Chili’s Taqueria Tallahassee and has spurred community organizers to plan an anti-ICE rally.
The footage shows workers at the food truck scrambling into and out of trailers as authorities arrived. One woman was seen being apprehended by agents. The owner of Chile & Chili’s reportedly told WCTV that three of the individuals seen running were Guatemalan nationals who had not yet finalized their immigration paperwork.
Citing safety concerns following the raid, the owner has closed the food truck, and the remaining employees have reportedly quit. In response to the event, the Tallahassee Immigrant Rights Alliance and Chile & Chili’s announced plans for a rally at the food truck's former location on Wednesday, with a social media post stating, "We need to show up and demand ICE Out!"
A GoFundMe campaign initiated by Chile & Chili’s has raised nearly $13,000 since the raid.
