Images of Bruised Japanese Porn Star Resurface Amid Reports of Hit-and-Run Before Death

Concerning images showing Japanese adult film star Hana Kuraki with cuts and bruises have resurfaced following reports that she was involved in a hit-and-run incident months before her death. The 25-year-old reportedly died by suicide.

The photos, posted by Kuraki on her Instagram in June, depict severe bruises on her knees, as well as her wrist and knuckles. She had announced a break from the adult industry on June 7, and on June 23, she mentioned in an X post that her "injury hasn’t fully healed yet" without providing further details. Her last X post, dated September 5, stated she had been experiencing daily headaches.

These images and reports of injuries have gained renewed attention after Japanese media outlets reported an alleged altercation with her ex-boyfriend, Shota Taira, around May 22. According to these reports, Taira visited Kuraki’s home after their breakup, forced his way inside, took two cell phones, and attempted to flee in his Maybach. Kuraki was reportedly dragged by the vehicle as she tried to prevent Taira from leaving.

Kuraki, who began her career in 2024, had previously referred to the incident as a traffic accident. Her death was announced on Sunday after her body was discovered at an apartment in Tokyo’s red-light district and is being treated by authorities as a suicide. Taira has not been accused of any crimes in connection with her death.

Kuraki's agency confirmed her death on Monday, acknowledging social media posts about "incidents that occurred with a specific person" but did not name Taira. The agency stated that Kuraki "was deeply hurt and suffered during her lifetime" and is cooperating with the investigation.
