Illinois Woman Vanishes After Trip to Chicago; Boyfriend Returns Home

Alyssa Smith, a 24-year-old woman from Palatine, Illinois, was reported missing on September 30, according to the Palatine Police Department. Her mother, Rebecca Smith, stated that Alyssa traveled to Chicago with her boyfriend, Jacob Ray Caso, but he returned home without her. The pair had last been in contact with Rebecca Smith on September 27.

Caso reportedly returned home on October 1, after stating he had been searching for Alyssa where they were last together. Details regarding when they arrived in Chicago and how they became separated remain unclear. Alyssa Smith was last seen in Chicago's 11th District, an area described as being between Cicero, Pulaski, and Madison.

Authorities described Alyssa as 5'5" tall, weighing approximately 140 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a grey hoodie, tan pants, and white and black gym shoes. Police also noted she may have a "possible black eye," though the circumstances of this injury are unknown. She has numerous piercings and tattoos, including a distinctive 'Pennywise' clown tattoo on her left shoulder.

Rebecca Smith has been actively sharing missing persons posters on social media to raise awareness. She has urged the public to contact 911 if they believe they have spotted her daughter, requesting that individuals refrain from reaching out to the family directly. Recently, police received information suggesting Alyssa might have been seen in Chicago's Grant Park area on October 3.

Caso, 29, has also made public appeals for Alyssa's return, sharing missing persons posters on his social media and writing, "Time to come home b. No one is mad at you." The Palatine Police Department has stated they have "received information" regarding potential sightings. \n
