Illinois Woman Gets 12-Year Sentence for Wendy's Co-worker Stabbing
Tichina Marshall pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree murder for a 2025 knife attack that left her victim with a fractured skull.
An Illinois woman has been sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to attempted first-degree murder for stabbing a Wendy's co-worker. Tichina Marshall, 29, attacked the victim in May 2025.
According to the Vermilion County State's Attorney's Office, Marshall entered the Wendy's manager's office and threatened the victim, stating, "I am going to kill you." Marshall then struck the victim with a knife twice in the face and once on the head. The victim was found bleeding and semi-conscious, suffering a stab wound to the head measuring 3 centimeters deep and a fractured skull.
The incident occurred at a Wendy's location on North Vermilion Street in Danville, Illinois, where both Marshall and the victim had previously worked. The restaurant has since closed as part of a corporate decision to eliminate underperforming outlets.
Marshall's sentencing was handed down by Judge Karen Wall. She must serve 85% of her 12-year sentence, followed by three years of mandatory supervised release. The 477 days Marshall has already spent in the Vermilion County Jail will be credited toward her sentence.
Prosecutors noted that Marshall had a history of misdemeanor charges and arrests in the years leading up to the stabbing, including domestic battery and aggravated assault. State's Attorney Jacqueline Lacy stated, "While no sentence can undo the lasting effects caused by this defendant, this prison sentence reflects the violent nature of this attack and the devastating injuries suffered by the victim."
